Who We Are
Media communications is a powerful force in the world today, influencing the way people understand their lives and the world around them. The voice of the Church needs a place at this table.
Real Presence Communications (RPC) is a prayer and work apostolate that seeks to build a bridge of understanding between the secular media and the Roman Catholic Church, and to employ ‘new media’ to communicate the Gospel to Christians and non-believers alike.
RPC is neither left wing nor right wing—we have no ideological agenda. Instead, we seek the third option: the Sacramental Way. RPC is faithful to the Holy Father, the Second Vatican Council and the social teachings of the Catholic Church.
What We Do
RPC generates and distributes public relations materials and provides speakers to be interviewed—on the Web and for distribution through various traditional media outlets. We do this in coordination with lay Catholic groups such as The Knights of Columbus, The Lay Dominicans, Carmelites, Franciscans, Workers of St. Joseph, etc.
RPC produces materials such as: press releases, audio and video productions, promotions for television and/or radio speakers, publication of interviews via the World Wide Web, multimedia presentations, print media, and more.
RPC television shows inform the public of the individual needs of the homeless, immigrants, prisoners, preborn infants, children with cancer, and others who are the least of our brethren. We also cover topics such as, theology, philosophy, international developments and cultural trends. A main goal in all of our undertakings is to help the secular media understand the Catholic Church as she defines herself. The following are some of the ways that RPC works to build a deeper understanding between the media and the Church:
• Radio Tours, PR & Promotion
• Media Production & Distribution
• Broadcast & Publication Services
• Interview Training
• Internet Radio Programming
The Main Ingredient
Balancing contemplation with apostolic action is what Real Presence Communications is all about. Action and prayer are both integral to what we do. Imagine: a media outlet that spreads eucharistic adoration and advocates the works of mercy!
In the midst of the dazzling array of sights and sounds bombarding us daily, we need to keep in mind that human beings are behind the information age in which we live. That’s why a primary emphasis of the RPC Apostolate is praying for those who work in the media industry. We also strive to personalize our relationships with them in order to give the Catholic Church a human face.
With this human touch, and the grace of God, we seek to build bridges to those in the communications industry. We seek to employ the tools and techniques of modern communications in order to manifest to the public the embrace of the Kingdom of Heaven here and now.
